EXPLORANDO
Explorando; a spanish term that translates to the english term, Exploring. This series explores a range of surfaces, where there are moments in life to dwell in. I have specifically captured spaces of quietness and hope, knowing that specimens like in Small Moments have the resilience to resist contamination. I invite the viewer to reflect on their own personal contamination(s) and acknowledge that there is hope to be attained in areas and moments like these.
Explorando, esta serie explora una variedad de superficies, donde hay momentos de la vida en los que habitar. He capturado específicamente espacios de quietud y esperanza, sabiendo que los especímenes como en Small Moments tienen la capacidad de resistir la contaminación. Invito al espectador a reflexionar sobre su (s) contaminación (es) personal (es) y reconozcan que hay esperanza de alcanzarse en áreas y momentos como estos.
RESEARCH
I encounter many areas that have been contaminated and tend to be a place of discardment. As I study specific organisms attached to mineral surfaces, I have found how these specific organisms, fungi/bacteria, anchor themselves to an unsuspecting mineral surface, with the intention to attack. However, in this case, it is attacking for the right reasons. Surface interactions such as these, impact its own space in a positive way by providing nutrients and healthy soil ecosystems. More so, these fungi provide a refuge for these mineral surfaces, allowing them to resist "intolerable conditions", contamination, discarded remains that will otherwise invade its space (Pickerel, 2001).
Encuentro muchas áreas que han sido contaminadas y tienden a ser un lugar de descarte. Al estudiar organismos específicos adheridos a superficies minerales, he encontrado cómo estos organismos específicos, hongos / bacterias, se anclan a una superficie mineral desprevenida, con la intención de atacar. Sin embargo, en este caso, está atacando por las razones correctas. Las interacciones superficiales como estas impactan su propio espacio de manera positiva al proporcionar nutrientes y ecosistemas sanos del suelo. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED
I am inviting any participants to participate in this study by reflecting on their own personal contamination(s) and how they have or will overcome these by writing their own poem(s) or reflection(s). This study will eventually form into a soft cover book that will be available to purchase in my website page, and will include participants poems or reflections (the participant may request to stay anonymous). Instructions below:
1 - Take a brief moment to read the statement, research, and observe the documentation (images/poem).
2 - I ask the viewer to reflect on their own personal contamination(s) how they have or will overcome these by writing their own poem(s) or reflection(s) like in Small Moments.
3 - Email to barronsenia@gmail.com or to contact: attach a word doc. or .pdf, with name and title (participant may request to stay anonymous).

Invito a los participantes a participar en este estudio al reflexionar sobre sus propias contaminaciones personales y cómo las han superado escribiendo sus propios poemas o reflexiones.
